BMW Motorrad
has released a new teaser video of one of its upcoming motorcycles which will be unveiled at the EICMA show next month. As we had reported earlier, the German bike maker will be unveiling four motorcycles at the event comprising a mixed bag of facelifts and all-new models.
Now, the question is - which motorcycle is BMW teasing in the video? Three out of four models that are likely to be revealed at EICMA include the new R18 cruiser, updated S 1000 XR and F 850 RS touring model. Meanwhile, information about the fourth product is still scarce.
The video consists of a motorcycle (not visible) cutting through serpentine mountain roads with only its exhaust note audible. The sound is certainly that of an inline-four motor which makes us believe that it could be the 2020 S 1000 XR. The sports tourer employs a 999cc, inline-four powerplants which does duty on its sports bike sibling, the S 1000 RR. Furthermore, the video also flashes tag lines such as ‘Never coming in second place. Always riding ahead.’ With this, BMW might be hinting towards the sporty character of the XR.
Talking about the other two EICMA-bound models, both will feature a twin-cylinder mill. The BMW R18 cruiser will be powered by a 1,800cc, air/oil-cooled, boxer twin motor which will be utilized in other models as well, based on this platform. As for the F 850 RS tourer, the motorcycle will run the 853cc, parallel-twin engine which is featured on the F 850 GS ADV. At present, we can only speculate about what the German brand is teasing in the video. However, it signifies that BMW has exciting models in the store and to uncover all the details, we’ll have to wait until the curtains are lifted off at the EICMA on 5 November.
