The TVR Griffith is still, seemingly, a long way from entering production even though it made its debut back in 2017.
Autocar has seen a newsletter sent by Les Edgar, TVR's chairman, to deposit-holders for the next-generation British sports car.
In it, Edgar talked up developments at the company, including the appointment of a new CEO, Jim Berriman, who helped to relaunch Rolls-Royce under BMW's ownership, and played a key role in getting the 2003 Phantom to market.
The automaker has also reached an agreement with Ford to use its latest 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine with a Cosworth-made dry sump and other modifications specified by TVR.
TVR has also made the 2017 show car road legal and is using it for testing, development, and events.
Perhaps the biggest hurdle the TVR needs to overcome in the construction of the new factory in Ebbw Vale, Wales, which is progressing "slower than hoped" and still in need of a new roof.
The second-generation TVR Griffith was revealed in September 2017 and was designed with the help of Gordon Murray, the man behind the McLaren F1.
Featuring a 373kW Ford V8 and manual transmission, the 1250kg carbon-fiber, steel, and aluminum sports car has a claimed 0-60mph (0-97km/h) time of under four seconds.
At the time of its launch, pricing kicked off from £90,000 ($132,000) and production was scheduled to commence in 2018.
