Famed toymaker Lego has immortalized the cult-favorite Fiat 500 as the newest addition to its Creator Expert model series.
Taking the form of a Fiat 500 D produced from 1960-1965, the 960-piece kit recreates the Italian classic with surprising accuracy.
Although only 11 centimeters high, 24cm long and 11cm wide, the Lego kit is almost a perfect 1:20 scale replica of the diminutive 500D.
The model is meticulous in its recreation of the real thing, replicating interior details and featuring a rear-mounted air-cooled engine and front-mounted spare, openable doors, bonnet and tailgate, and even a foldable roof.

Lego’s Fiat 500 can also be accessorized with a luggage rack and suitcase for imaginary trips down the Amalfi Coast.
Each kit also features an easel, palette, brush, and canvas with a ‘painted’ Fiat 500 parked in front of the colosseum. How very Italian.
The kits are priced at $139.99.

The Fiat 500 joins other classics such as the Aston Martin DB5Ferrari F40Ford MustangMini Cooper and Volkswagen T1 Camper Van and Beetle that have all featured in the Lego Creator Expert line-up over time.
Lego also offers a more expensive, challenging series of models in their Technic Series. Functioning drivetrains and suspensions feature in the top-tier models which include the Porsche 911 RSRLand Rover Defender and Bugatti Chiron – the last of which will cost you a cool $599.99.
Lamborghini has also partnered with Lego to develop a model – rumored to be either a 2020 Sian or the forthcoming Aventador replacement – set to be unveiled at the same time as the real thing.
